Dear Mr. Murad, I am writing regarding the press club announcement of a dinner “In honor of Stockwell day”. We had a verbal agreement that you would send a draft for APAC's approval before going ahead with the announcement. You did not. Unfortunately, the announcement that was published is one that is far from the APAC objectives we have agreed on for this event. We never agreed to sponsor a meeting “in honor” of Mr. Day. We agreed to take part in a meet-and-greet event where our community can have a chance to voice its concerns to Mr. Day. How it ended up being “in honor of” is beyond me. This announcement has caused far too much damage to our reputation and the moral in our community and is not true to the original objectives we discussed verbally. I add my voice to the voices of others in our community and call on you to cancel this event. If you choose to go ahead with it, please do so without APAC's name. We are still interested in meeting with Mr. Day and in voicing to him our concerns as a community that has been marginalized and ignored by the conservative government. But we cannot and will not participate in this particular event. Regards, Hani Naser President APAC Your Comments canpalnet-ottawa.org |
