Support friendly journalists

There are some outstanding and honest journalists who write for the Toronto Star: Haroon Siddiqui, Linda McQuaig and Antonia Zerbisias have consistently condemned Israel's policies and actions vis a vis Palestinians.  You can read their articles by going to the Toronto Star Columnists page.

But if any reader has any misconceptions concerning the stance of the Toronto Star, think again.

The publisher of the Star is Michael Goldbloom.

Michael Goldbloom is the son of Victor Goldbloom, who is the Chairman of the National Executive of the Canadian Jewish Congress, one of the most powerful pro-Israel lobby groups in Canada.

The Toronto Star is the largest circulation newspaper in Canada and in spite of its ownership the only Canadian paper that provides a somewhat balanced picture of events in the Palestine.

It is very important to provide support through letters to the editor for columnists such as Antonia Zerbisias, Haroon Siddiqui and Linda McQuaig. Please check their columns as often as you can and write a supportive letter to the editor ( lettertoed@thestar.ca ).
