Tikkun/Halper: Israel in a Middle East Union: A "Two-stage" Approach to the Conflict
The Israeli public, battered, scared, caught in a lose-lose situation but convinced by their leaders that there is no political solution to the conflict, has taken itself out of the equation. It is passive, waiting for outside intervention to resolve things. That leaves us—the Israeli peace movement, our partner Palestinian peace-seekers, Diaspora Jews, and other members of the international civil society—to join together to defeat occupation and displacement, just as we defeated apartheid. As the old saying goes: When the people lead, the leaders follow.

G&M: Canadians don't share Ottawa's pro-Israel tilt
Of special concern to Canadian Jews, however, is the discovery that the more Canadians say they know about that conflict, the greater their support for Palestinians.

Reader Gary Keenan comments on Linda Belanger's article, "Irshad Manji's Trip to Israel"
With the vast amount of accurate and well documented information so easily available, there is simply no excuse for Irshad Manji, an educated, seemingly intelligent woman, to be so woefully misinformed regarding the Palestinian/Israel conflict.  For whatever reason, she has decided to peddle Israel/zionist fiction.

NJSol: Zionism is the Issue: Building a Strong Pro-Palestinian Movement In the US
Freedom for Palestine will not come as a result of a solution imposed by the U.S., Europe, or any other power: it will come from a struggle for liberation waged on the ground--both in Palestine, and in the region surrounding it--or it will not come at all. A solidarity movement that is genuine must find effective ways to support that struggle.
