| Bulletin #355 NOV. 30, 2007 THE JNF’S "CANADA PARK" IS A DISGRACE AND A TAX RIP-OFF PAJU (Palestinian and Jewish Unity-Montreal) The Jewish National Fund (JNF) will hold its "Negev Dinner" in Toronto on Sunday, December 2, 2007 to raise funds for "Canada Park". We would like to give you with some information related to the history of Canada Park and ask: Why are Canadian taxpayers subsidizing the JNF? Canada Park is not within the territory of the State of Israel. It is in the occupied West Bank. Until June 1967, there were 3 Palestinian villages in that area: Yalu, Beit Nuba, and Imwas. Israeli forces occupied the villages in June 1967 during the "6 Day War" and forced the villagers to flee. Israeli bulldozers then destroyed the homes of the villagers. They also demolished mosques and desecrated cemeteries. Many villagers died. Canada Park was illegally established on the ruins of these 3 villages. It is a monument to Israel’s criminal ethnical cleansing of the area. The JNF is also the registered owner of 13% of the land within the state of Israel. Most of this land belongs to Palestinian refugees expelled in 1948. The land was seized by Israel in violation of international law. The JNF Charter reserves this land for Jews only. The JNF refuses to lease any of this land to Arab citizens of the State of Israel. All JNF land - 625,000 acres – is subject to the JNF’s restrictive covenant "for Jews only; no Arabs allowed." Even the Attorney-General of Israel has described this JNF practice as "illegal". Clearly, the JNF policy is a racist policy that cannot be upheld in a democracy. The JNF is not an "environmental protection" agency, as it claims. It is an organization that benefits from war crimes. It promotes racism and ethnic cleansing. And yet the JNF is registered for tax purposes as a "charity" in Canada! The JNF: Is this really an organization Canadian taxpayers should be subsidizing?
