You justified this trip to Israel by our police force on the basis that Israel has such an extensive experience in fighting what you call "terrorism" in response to illegal occupation. May I remind you that Israel is also infamous for the following: 1. torture 2. expulsion 3. mass administrative arrests 4. mass demolition of homes 5. destruction of medical, educational and cultural infrastructure 6. land confiscation 7. settlement 8. siege Please read page 150 of "Apartheid Israel" by Professor Uri Davis, an Israeli Jew, to find the above quoted information. And since we are neighbours, I would be pleased to donate a copy of this book, if only you would read it. This visit gives recognition and acceptance to these practices, either directly or indirectly. South Africa, 15 years ago, also had the most efficient police service, with decades of experience in fighting Mandela and the other "terrorists" at the time!!! Would you have approved a visit by the Ontario Police to learn from South Africa? Do we have certain rules for Israel, and different rules for the rest of the world? I would very much like to meet with you on one of your visits to our Ottawa South Riding to talk about (1) this matter and (2) how you and Minister Smitherman can save the Ontario taxpayers $11,000,000, yes ELEVEN MILLION $ from the health budget. Unfortunately, Mr. Smitherman ignored the detailed information I sent him on this matter, which will almost certainly re-surface when your re-election comes up. Your Comments |
